HOME LEARNING – INFORMATION FOR PARENTS
Each week the children need to complete the following home learning:
Spellings: Given out on a Tuesday, to be learnt for a test on the following Monday.
Reading: ‘The Race to Read’. Please see the details on the inside cover of your child’s reading record.
Maths: Sumdog is a fantastic Maths website full of games, activities and competitions to enter! We would like your child to play lots of the Maths games to reinforce their knowledge and understanding. School code is now ‘hilltop’

TERM 4 TOPIC – BURPS, BOTTOMS AND BILE
This terms topic is science-led which covers the digestive system, tooth decay and types of teeth
Literacy – We will continue looking at David Walliams. This term, we will be reading Mr Stink and using this to inspire our writing. We will also look at standard verb inflections, writing diary entries and book reviews and persuasive writing.
Numeracy – Fractions and decimals, measures and the relationship between multiplication and division.
Science – We will be completing our work on digestion and looking at sound. How it is made and how we hear.
Geography – We will be looking at features of rivers.
P.S.H.R.E/R.E – Personal hygiene and inspirational people
TO HELP YOUR CHILD YOU CAN …
Writing: Encourage your child to write for 10 minutes, three times a week. They could design a crossword, keep a diary, write about their weekend, describe a character, review their favourite tv programme, book or game.
Numeracy: Key areas that will help your child in school will include -Times tables and division facts, money, practise telling the time.
We have Outdoor PE on a Wednesday
Homework will continue to be 3 reads at home, Sumdog and spellings.
Spellings and times tables tests will be on Monday with new spellings given on a Tuesday.
Swimming is on Friday afternoon (last session 23rd March). There is no swimming in Terms 5 & 6.
